ARSC 58th Annual Conference and Workshop - May 15-18, 2024

Please join ARSC for its 58th Annual Conference and Workshop (#ARSCaudio2024), May 15-18, 2024 in St. Paul, Minnesota at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel St. Paul Downtown!

The ARSC Workshop "Early and Obsolete Digital Formats" on Wed., May 15, 2024 will look at early and obsolete digital formats with history, details, and playback tips from renowned experts including Eddie Ciletti (Manhattan Sound Technicians, Inc.), Dan Johnson (Audio Archiving Services), George Blood (George Blood Audio), Jason Bitner (How's That Sound), Nadja Wallaszkovits (Professor of Audio/Visual Preservation, Stuttgart, Germany), Gary Galo (Audio Engineer Emeritus, SUNY Potsdam), Jeff Willens (NYPL), and Brad McCoy (moderator). Separate registration is required.

The ARSC Conference kicks off with an opening reception on Wed. May 15, 2024 at 7 PM and continues Thur. May 16 through Sat. May 18 with presentations and panel discussions with sound recording scholars, collectors, preservationists, and creators engaged in a broad range of topics that cross geographic, cultural, and collection boundaries.

Evening programming will include the following events, with selected events free and open to the public:

  • Wed. May 15, 7:00-9:00 pm: Opening Reception [conference registrants only]
  • Thur. May 16, 7:30 pm: Old-time Conversations: Finding Health, Happiness and Community Through Traditional Music, with Craig Evans [open to the public]
  • Fri. May 17, 6:00-8:00 pm: Minnesota Public Radio Tour and Reception [conference registrants only]
  • Fri. May 17, 7:30-9:30 pm: I've Got Those "Just Gotta See It But It Ain't On YouTube" Blues Screening: A New Assemblage of Classic Music Clips from All Genres [open to the public]
  • Fri. May 17, 7:30-9:30 pm: Ask the ARSC Technical Committee [conference registrants only]
  • Fri. May 17, 9:30-11:00 pm: Collector's Roundtable [open to the public]
  • Sat. May 18, 6:00-10:00 pm: Happy Hour [conference registrants only]
  • Sat. May 18, 7:00-10:00 pm: ARSC Awards Banquet [conference registrants only, separate ticket required]
